Absolutely Wonderful!

Definitely the best book in the series, which is saying a lot considering they are all fantastic! I'm not a cryer at all, but I cried 7 times during Forged. It is so powerful and touches on so many heart breaking subjects that will leave your heart breaking. Not all sad tears either, happy tears are there to. The writing was wonderful and of course you have no choice but to love all the characters in this series. I am so looking forward to the next book and the spin off series that are coming to. You've got to read these, you will not be disappointed!

Extremely disappointed with the errors but a good story.

One of the only reasons that I read this book was because I have come to like the characters in this series. I can't explain how disappointed that I am with the continued grammar, editing, and formatting problems. I expect that from new authors, but usually after the 2nd or 3rd book they've got it under control. This is the 6th of this series and it's as bad if not worse than the 1st. I hate giving negative feedback or reviews. I, like many others, have mentioned this numerous times in previous reviews in this series and nothing has changed. Honestly, if I didn't like the characters and stories so much, I definitely would've given up on this series after book #1.
This author has a lot of talent, her storylines are great(mostly), and her characters are different but also fit her stories as well as make them more interesting. It really is a shame that the editing, etc is so horrible, cause otherwise I would give this a 5 star review.
I'm not going to recommend or not recommend this book/series. If you can overlook the issues stated, you may enjoy this. I truly hope that the author will take the time in future books to get the help needed to make these books what they should be.

This book was required for a 200 level class, which is for sophomores. This has to be, by far, the most abstract book I have ever read. There is almost no relevancy to application in this book. I gave it two stars because chapter two gives a nice history of the profession. However, this book constantly repeats itself and uses an unnecessary complex vocabulary.

New Insights on a Traditional Model

I was lucky enough to assist on one of Andy Smith's courses many years back. Since then I've recommend his courses and books and have even used his material on some of my own courses. What constantly impresses me about Andy is that he often takes what I would consider an old, tried and tested idea and breathes new life in to it.

He has done this with the SCORE model. I had seen and dismissed SCORE as a coaching model several years ago. I considered it just a variation of a theme with nothing particularly new to add to the models and concepts I already had.

Then I read Andy's book. I only read it because I know him but I am really glad that I did. His short little book has made me reassess my ideas of the SCORE model and brought up some ideas that I had not considered.

Not only did Andy give me some ideas around the basic model that I have not met before he also talks in depth about how to use SCORE in a variety of contexts. He actually had my fired up enough about the model to use it with a coaching client recently.

If you are a coach, trainer or are just in to personal development there is something in this SCORE model that is worth thinking about. If like me you had dismissed it as nothing new dressed up you can trust me in that Andy does bring out nuances in the model that make it worth looking at in its own right. I've certainly gained an insight or two as well another tool to play with both in individual and group settings. And my client has benefited from the new insights to the point where I want to explore this model some more. That is pretty good turn round for a model I had dismissed years ago.

S.C.O.R.E. scores.

I'm new to S.C.O.R.E. and loved reading the book. As a consequence not only I want to learn more about it, inclusively, how to work with it, but I'm also curious about learning more about Appreciative Inquiry. It was a read and broaden your horizons book.

Concise, precise and easy to use

Andy Smith has written a practical, easy to use and easy to understand guide to the SCORE model - an often overlooked NLP technique developed by Robert Dilts and Todd Epstein back in the early days of NLP (Neuro-linguistic Programming). The model can be used by coaches, trainers and team leaders and Andy clearly outlines the steps to the process so that anyone with or without an NLP background can use it straight away. It can be used with anyone who has a problem they want to solve and a goal they want to achieve--both individuals and teams.
I especially liked the chapter where Andy puts his 'appreciative inquiry frame' onto the SCORE model. Rather than focusing on the problem, which can cause stress, you are encouraged instead to focus on what's already working. This creates a better learning environment and avoids the negative emotions associated with the issue. It then becomes easier to focus on the desired outcome.
This is a book I will certainly be using in my own coaching practice; it has everything - the steps and the questions to ask as you take the client along the path of enquiry into the issue. A great addition to a coach or trainer's toolkit.

About the Author
Mélusine Draco originally trained in the magical arts of traditional British Old Craft with Bob and Mériém Clay-Egerton. Not just in the obvious love of the subject but in the vast store of ...

If you thought this was just another book about crystals, think again! Not only is the author an experienced magical practitioner in her own right, but her magical tutor also held a doctorate in geology – and it shows. Not just in the obvious love of the subject but in the vast store of magical information crammed into these 186 pages. Of course there is the usual list of gemstones with their correspondences but Magic Crystals, Sacred Stones goes much further in explaining that it can be the very rocks beneath our feet that generates magical energy – and how it can affect our own magical working. Did you know, for example, that many of the stones used in our ancient monuments contain a high percentage of quartz; and that quartz is the most magically potent crystal on the planet? Another interesting aspect to this book is that the exercises at the end of each chapter are designed for the purpose of creating your own personal system of divination by crystallomancy, the ancient practice of casting lots using small stones or crystals. As well as being a practical magical guide, it is a worthy successor to those two classic historical reference works The Curious Lore of Precious Stones (Kunz) and Magical Jewels (Evans).

Earth energies in your hand

This is a really interesting book, bringing far more weight to the subject of crystals than is normal for New Age fayre. There’s a hefty reference section with more technical information than esoteric, and as a Druid, this really appeals to me. I’m wary of dogmatic spiritual interpretations of things, but going in depth on the tangible aspects we might easily agree on, and then using that as a basis for personal exploration seems like a much better idea to me. I was also very taken with the emphasis Melusine Draco places on relating to the rocks beneath your feet. Knowing what you are stood on, where that comes from and what it means is a way of connecting with the earth, and the massive time scales of geology are a useful counter-perspective for human issues. If you are working with earth energies or crystals, or want to work with personally sourced stones, there’s a lot to be gained from reading this book.

The author, an heir to a Traditional Witchcraft Coven dating to the mid-nineteenth century, would be at home in a Circle or a university lecture hall. This book is as much an exposition of the mysteries of Witchcraft, and the witch’s treasures in the earth, as it is a guide to geology. If you’re looking for a crystals-of-Atlantis or some other kind of New Age nonsense fluff, this is not the book for you. If you want solid, tried and tested knowledge that will aid your practice, make you think, and challenge you to do the spade-and-shovel work of real Witchcraft, this is what you’ve been looking for. Carl Sagan called geology the “study of time and pressure.” Melusine Draco has expanded that science to include Witchcraft in a way that is elegant and disciplined. This book is a “must have” for any student of the Nameless Art.
