Syd Parker was born in California and lives in Indiana with her partner of ten years. She loves golfing, biking and spoiling her ten nieces and nephews. She loves to travel and anywhere on the water feels like home. She spends her days toiling away at her day job until she figures out a way to drop the fifteen strokes to make it on the LPGA tour, although she's totally mastered Tiger Woods Golf on the Wii. Most days when she's not writing, you will find her on the trails or riding her road bike and praying she doesn't end up in another ditch. She loves to read a good love story and thoroughly enjoys writing them as well. "It isn't just about writing a story, it's about creating a world and having the reader climb into it, experiencing it in first person. That's my goal, that's why I write."

but I really enjoyed The Change Up

I admit, I'm a newcomer to Syd Parker, so I can't base my review off of having read other books of hers, but I really enjoyed The Change Up!. I'm a pretty avid reader of lesbian romance and this was a good one! The biggest plus for me is that I got to spend some imaginary time out on the ball field! Being raised as a good ole southern baptist girl in the heart of dixie, I found that I could relate to so much of the complexities of feelings that Bell found herself fighting. I'd recommend this book for sure, I got pulled in pretty quickly and before I knew it, I was on my last page and wasn't ready for it to end!
Syd, you need to write us a women's softball team story!! Take me back out to the ballgame!!

The Change Up

Loved the story, very emotional and thought provoking. A story of choices and coming to terms with yourself and your beliefs and deciding how you want to live your life. I'm sure a lot of this book came from personal experiences and I'm sure it was a very difficult story to tell. All said I think it is well worth the time and money to read. I've always enjoyed Syd's books and this one is no exception and I'm sure it will be read again soon.

I've read all of Syd Parker's books. Loved this one the most I think.
The Change-Up is not the typical girl meets girl, fall in love etc . . . . This is about real life struggles with emotions, love, facing truths about yourself and things you've believed in all your life. Having a son Kevins age about to go off to college also made it even more emotional for me. You never know what life with throw at you, and that's one of the many things I love about this book I just didn't see certain things coming, I was glad I had tissues nearby. And it's people who stick by your side no matter what that make all the difference! I loved Kevins outlook throughout this whole book too.
Definitely one to read!!!
