Lightning Strikes Twice

Poppy defies the popular adage: she is struck twice by lightning on the same day. Kinda.
The first strike comes as she accidentally learns that her husband Parker is having an affair with his colleague Sienna. The second lightning strike, a real one this time, hits Parker (and Sienna) several minutes later, and when he wakes up, Parker can’t remember his recent history, including the affair.
Poppy starts acting like the one thunderstruck, as she embarks on a mad quest to re-create herself in Sienna’s image so she can
win back her husband, spiraling downward in a comedy of well-intentioned errors, to which Parker is an increasingly puzzled and
uncomprehending witness.
Chantel Guertin has given us a heartfelt comedy with some tragic relief, in clean-cut style that wastes no time getting
the story told. I suppose some would call it chick lit, but I like it, too.

Not one I would recommend

I found the story predictable and a little disappointing. I imagine it was my age(50 something) and my life experiences that contributed to my opinion. Some one else might enjoy this storyline. I did not. I really tried to read the entire story but gave up after I read 8 of the 13 total chapters. The premise of the plot is....A young,attractive,successful,confident woman discovers that her young, attractive, successful, "confident husband is having an affair. Her response was to follow the mistress and to become a "minnie me" . I didn't find the scenes of this young woman changing her outward apperance to be humorous. The story reeks of desperation , I found it sad.
